Bloomsburg Field Hockey Rebounds With Win

KUTZTOWN-- Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) scored three times and Maggey Bloskey (Danville/Danville) scored twice as the Bloomsburg University field hockey team rebounded from its first loss of the season on Saturday with 7-1 victory over Kutztown.

Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) scored just four minutes into the game to put the Huskies in front and Bloskey followed with her first goal three minutes later for a 2-0 advantage. Vanartsdalen hit the back of the cage in the 24th minute for a 3-0 lead before the Golden Bears got their only goal two minutes later.

In the second half, Vanartsdalen scored two more times, while Bloskey and Venessa Witman (Oley/Oley Valley) each added a goal for a 7-1 final.

Bloomsburg is 9-1 on the season, 3-0 in the PSAC East. The Huskies host CW Post on Saturday at 3 p.m.
